Growing up in Camp Sherman, Oregon, near the headwaters of the Metolius River I spent
countless hours standing in the water, fly rod in hand. As I grew so did my appreciation for the
river as well as for the art of fly fishing. For the last 15 years I have been immersed in the fly
fishing lifestyle. Metolius Custom Fly Rods is an idea I had years ago, and since taking the big
step to develop it there has been no turning back. Combining my years of practice, habitual
research and development and attention to detail I have come up with a line of fly rods that
has fulfilled my dreams and hopefully yours too. I pride myself with being a perfectionist and I
believe that it is apparent when you see my finished product. I don't build fly rods for the
masses, and I don't build them for a living. This company is built around a hobbyist and his love
for the sport. I build fly rods for people who are looking for something more than just a Sage
or a Scott that they can pick up at any strip mall fly shop. There is an element of uniqueness
that is found in every custom fly rod in that no two are alike, they feel nicer in the hand, they
look like a million bucks and they are conversation pieces. Metolius Custom Fly Rods are for
people who fish, and I won't sell something that I wouldn't buy myself.
